The Hooniversal Opinion: A Conventional Geneva 2015

Re-shared from Hooniverse, text by Bradley Brownell, Eric Rood, Greg Kachadurian, Tim Odell, Kamil Kaluski, Jeff Glucker, and Bryce Womeldurf.

Geneva is an interesting auto show. There is always something really important launching there, and this year is no different. For some reason, it always seems like the major European sports car manufacturers choose Geneva to display their ‘exciting’ offerings. Unfortunately, none of the elegant scribes from our hallowed halls will be in attendance of the Geneva show, so we’ll be reporting from the sidelines. I’ll set up the pins, and the rest of our faultless crew will knock them down with unstoppable bowling ball of opinionated journalism.

We have new car launches in the form of Mercedes’ AMG GT3 racer, Audi’s R8, Porsche’s Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3 RS, Lamborghini’s Aventador Superveloce, Morgan’s Aero 8, Jeep’s Renegade ‘Hard Steel’, Range Rover’s Evoque Cabriolet, McLaren’s 675LT and P1 GTR, Brabus’ Rocket 900, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’ SCG 003, Koenigsegg’s Agera RS and Regera, and Aston Martin’s Vulcan and V12 Vantage GT3. There are also some pretty tempting concept pieces, with Infiniti dropping the small QX30 Concept, Bentley’s EXP 10 Speed 6, Volkswagen’s Sport Coupe GTE, Lexus’ LF-SA, and Magna Steyr’s MILA.

Photographs are either manufacturer supplied, or politely swiped from the hands of our friends at Autoblog and Autoweek. (more…)

Big SoCal Euro Gathering 2013 Massive Showing

Text by Danny Cruz, photography by RallyWays

Today we’re taking a look at what’s going on in the left coast. More importantly, what’s going on in the Euro car scene in Southern California. Big SoCal Euro Gathering is such a huge gathering of European cars that it makes ripples cross-country. Many people travel from all over to attend this event.

SoCal Euro is a gathering that started with humble beginnings in a small parking lot. It’s a show that was started by the people and still remains “by the people, for the people” to this day. In 2013, SoCal Euro saw it’s biggest showing yet with a gathering of easily more than 3,000 cars. Porsches, Volkswagens, Audis, BMWs, Mercedes, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martin, and more… However, the show still remains focused on the grassroots car enthusiast. The enthusiasts come first as they are the ones that support the show. Otherwise the vendors would not even be there. (more…)

November 2011 Cars & Coffee duPont REGISTRY at Innisbrook

On the pre-Thanksgiving weekend, I got to go to not just one, but two events, this being the first. The duPont REGISTRY Cars & Coffee event for last month was held outside of the registry at Innisbrook Golf and Country Club, which provided a pleasant green backdrop for this new set of photos. The big draw for this event was the first Mercedes Benz SLS AMG convertible on U.S. shores, but I was quickly distracted by some classic Mopar racecars and the new Ferrari 458s that were in attendance.

May 2011 Cars & Coffee at duPont REGISTRY

I was so excited about Cars & Coffee that on Friday night, like a kid about to go to Disney World, I couldn’t sleep. At 6AM, I went out and got the biggest can of Monster that they sell and a quick bite to eat. The main thing I’d been excited to see was Lamborghinis, but from what you see here in this opening image of the Ultima GTR, there were Lambos and so many other cars to get excited about, that I’d only previously seen in magazines. Here are the best of what I shot.
