I’m wrapping up 2011 with my best shots from last month’s Tampa International Auto Show. I’ve been a bit slowed up lately, because I got a new laptop and have had a lot of trouble getting the thing to color calibrate. Hopefully, this will be solved soon because as of right now, I’m unable to trust it’s color enough to do any photo editing on it. So, I’ve had to do everything on my wife’s Macbook.
Without further ado, here are my favorite shots from the annual car show last month. With the launch of the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ, I wasn’t sure there would be much to see at the show this year, with most of the good stuff having been sent off to LA. Nonetheless, I got my first views of the new 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 along with the unique new Hyundai Veloster and Fiat 500. Not to mention a few old school hotrods. And I didn’t even get stuck in any Corvettes this year. (more…)
I’m finally getting around to posting last month’s Cars & Coffee event from three weeks back. Things got derailed a bit when, the day after attending this and an Evo meet at S&R Performance (post on that to come), I woke up with a bad case of what my wife thinks was heat exhaustion. No more 2 event weekends without carrying some water.
Anyways, on this outing to Cars & Coffee, I arrived 20 minutes later than last time (made a wrong turn and had to go over the bridge twice), and had to park outside the event, more over towards the exotics. As a result, this time I’ve got many more photos of the high end rides for you to see after the jump.
I was so excited about Cars & Coffee that on Friday night, like a kid about to go to Disney World, I couldn’t sleep. At 6AM, I went out and got the biggest can of Monster that they sell and a quick bite to eat. The main thing I’d been excited to see was Lamborghinis, but from what you see here in this opening image of the Ultima GTR, there were Lambos and so many other cars to get excited about, that I’d only previously seen in magazines. Here are the best of what I shot. (more…)
I’m back from a bit of a break that wasn’t really a break. I’ve been shooting like crazy over the past two weekends with my new Nikkon D90. One weekend, two weekends ago, I went to a meet of Lancer Evolution owners who are members of Evolutionm.net, a Lancer Evo community that I’ve been a part of since 2005. The other, the weekend before last, was this great adventure of my second attending of the Honda Grand Prix of St Petersburg, Florida. I’ve only slept for about four hours per night, for four nights in a row, editing these photos to bring them to you here and on Flickr. I was elated to get five hours last night before getting back up at midnight to finalize it all. Enough about sleep, on to the Grand Prix. (more…)
