On Saturday, March 19, 2016, Pipo Derani sealed up the second consecutive race win for 2016 in the No. 2 Tequila Patrón ESM Honda Ligier JS P2, winning the 64th annual 12 Hours of Sebring. The No. 4 Corvette won in the GTLM class after their sister car, the No. 3 Corvette collided with the No. 911 Porsche 911, taking them both out of contention and ending the race for the No. 911. The new Ferrari F88 GT3 claimed its first victory in the GTD class with the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488. (more…)
It all started as a quick decision. The Wednesday before the annual 24 hour race in Daytona, I decided to attend the Rolex24. This year’s race would be the racing debut of the new Ford GT supercar, and there was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to capture some photographs of it. Little did I know it would be such an exciting and unusual race. (more…)
Despite how eventful this year has been, some of the photos I’ve taken have not progressed to being sorted and edited until very recently. One of these events, which I attended back in January, was a local car show called the 2015 Series Open Car & Truck Show at “The Shops at Wiregrass,” a small outdoor mall in the tiny nearby town of Wesley Chapel, Florida. A few times a year, there is a Concours d’Elegance held in Florida called the Festivals of Speed. These photos are from the event in St Petersburg back in April. I was hoping to show them sooner, but was sidetracked for a while with a broken coolant temperature sensor connector in my Miata. But that’s a story for another time. Here, at last, are the photos from that hot sunny day. (more…)
In April, St Petersburg, Florida hosted the Festivals of Speed, a traveling Concours d’Elegance-style show with cars, boats, and aircraft laid out for display on the grass of a swank country club. I didn’t make it to this particular festival, as at the last minute I realized that my dad was coming down for a visit on the same weekend. So, my wife volunteered to go and shoot it for me. Special thanks goes to her for that. I did get to go to the one in Orlando a month later, and I should have the photos from that event posted very soon, but this one had some pretty amazing and special rides that didn’t make it to Orlando, cars that I’ve never even seen in real life.
