HoonArt might be all about sports cars, but this author’s love for top-down motoring began at an early age, riding in Dad’s CJ-7. These old commercials are hilarious. and if you watch the first one in this collection that Murilee Martin brought together, the black Laredo toward the end looks just like Dad’s.
Geneva is an interesting auto show. There is always something really important launching there, and this year is no different. For some reason, it always seems like the major European sports car manufacturers choose Geneva to display their ‘exciting’ offerings. Unfortunately, none of the elegant scribes from our hallowed halls will be in attendance of the Geneva show, so we’ll be reporting from the sidelines. I’ll set up the pins, and the rest of our faultless crew will knock them down with unstoppable bowling ball of opinionated journalism.
We have new car launches in the form of Mercedes’ AMG GT3 racer, Audi’s R8, Porsche’s Cayman GT4 and 911 GT3 RS, Lamborghini’s Aventador Superveloce, Morgan’s Aero 8, Jeep’s Renegade ‘Hard Steel’, Range Rover’s Evoque Cabriolet, McLaren’s 675LT and P1 GTR, Brabus’ Rocket 900, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’ SCG 003, Koenigsegg’s Agera RS and Regera, and Aston Martin’s Vulcan and V12 Vantage GT3. There are also some pretty tempting concept pieces, with Infiniti dropping the small QX30 Concept, Bentley’s EXP 10 Speed 6, Volkswagen’s Sport Coupe GTE, Lexus’ LF-SA, and Magna Steyr’s MILA.

At first glance, the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee seems like it won’t likely win any beauty prizes. The new design is as polarizing as it is purposeful. Not in the traditional boxy, no frills sense of purposeful, but as far as efficiency, it is a very slick body shape. I’ll be honest… the first time I saw a photo of it, I did not like it at all. It has since then slowly started to grow on me, and in person, it’s far more appealing. (more…)
I’m finally getting around to posting last month’s Cars & Coffee event from three weeks back. Things got derailed a bit when, the day after attending this and an Evo meet at S&R Performance (post on that to come), I woke up with a bad case of what my wife thinks was heat exhaustion. No more 2 event weekends without carrying some water.
Anyways, on this outing to Cars & Coffee, I arrived 20 minutes later than last time (made a wrong turn and had to go over the bridge twice), and had to park outside the event, more over towards the exotics. As a result, this time I’ve got many more photos of the high end rides for you to see after the jump.
