Last month’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance was this author’s first attendance to the event and it was big… huge in fact. Due to a combination of trying to cover it all, preparation for publishing, not to mention attending the Sebring 12 and a Miata meet all in the same month; Amelia’s Cars & Coffee event ended up on the proverbial cutting room floor… until today. After the jump, we’ll revisit Cars & Coffee with a selection of photographs of the cars which were there.  (more…)

Many of you can probably remember when Volkswagen was known more for making small, cheap, ubiquitous cars with character, known as the Beetle, than they were for a diesel emissions controversy. Last Saturday, I was able to travel back to those good old days at the Florida Bug Jam, a family-friendly judged classic Volkswagen car show with a poker run and some dirt track hooning. I don’t think I spotted a single water-cooled VW while I was there, besides the one that I arrived in. (more…)

Despite this being the first I’d heard of this car show series, there was a pretty nice showing of cars with a good variety, which I’ve collected to share with you after the jump. (more…)

Watch this supercut of Quentin Tarantino driving scenes

Quentin Tarantino has his arsenal of trademark shots, led by the unmistakeable “trunk shot” taken from inside a car’s boot looking out. But the director repeats other, perhaps less noticeable shots involving cars to set the tone of his movies. This supercut makes it clear. (more…)

June 2011 Cars & Coffee at duPont REGISTRY

I’m finally getting around to posting last month’s Cars & Coffee event from three weeks back. Things got derailed a bit when, the day after attending this and an Evo meet at S&R Performance (post on that to come), I woke up with a bad case of what my wife thinks was heat exhaustion. No more 2 event weekends without carrying some water.

Anyways, on this outing to Cars & Coffee, I arrived 20 minutes later than last time (made a wrong turn and had to go over the bridge twice), and had to park outside the event, more over towards the exotics. As a result, this time I’ve got many more photos of the high end rides for you to see after the jump.
